I've installed the latest version of MagiCal on SL 10.6.2 and while it sits in the menubar and displays the date correctly, it seems unresponsive once I click on it. I can't browse through the months nor the days, and on top of that I do not see the little "i" icon with the app's preferences. The reason I know about the "i" icon is because it worked just fine on Leopard, but now it apparently doesn't.

Anybody else experiencing such problem?

Hi. I tested MagiCal out last week and rather liked it. But then I tested MenuCalendarClock and haven't looked back. But I didn't have those issues with MagiCal, it worked properly and I'm on Snow Leopard. Sorry to not be more helpful. Did you try trashing its preferences and relaunching?

I've tried MenuCalendarClock, but didn't like how it looked in menubar, so I ditched it. But yeah, I did try removing MagiCal with AppDelete and re-installing it, but to no avail.

Any ideas?

I don't remember, but does it create a folder in your application support folder? And did appdelete find and delete that? Grasping at straws.....

I laughed about you not liking the look of menucalendarclock, because one of the reasons I went with it is I prefer it's ical icon. LOL! To each their own, I guess. :D

Hope you get it figured out, I really like both programs and find them useful.

The weird thing is, the MagiCal preferences worked INITIALLY, right when I installed the app afresh on my freshly installed SL, because I was able to change MagiCal's icon from default color to blue. But then after a couple of weeks, I could no longer access its preferences...

You are running v1.1r2? In the release notes for that version it does say

[fix] Fixed inability to interact with calendar or access preferences on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Sounds like it's not fixed after all!

Yeah, r2. Hah, that's exactly the bug I'm experiencing (what you mentioned as the "fix")!
