Hi, I just got the Samsung 830 256GB SSD and connected it via the supplied USB 2 kit to a PC running windows 7. I wanted to see if the SSD required a firmware update so I ran magician software(3.1) after formatting the SSD(NTFS) using the supplied SSD-USB 2 connector. Windows recognizes the drive. I ran Magician but it says "no Samsung SSD brand SSD found in the system". I just want to check if I have the latest firmware before installing it on my Mac. DO I NEED TO INSTALL THE 830 IN THE INTERNAL DRIVE BAY SATA CONNECTOR FOR MAGICIAN TO SEE IT? And is there a problem with the Jan. 12, 2012 firmware update? Thanks.
