Just had another one. Magnitude 6.3 but it's shallower than the previous one (5 km instead of 33) and early reports are that it did more damage.
 
This one's definitely worse than the one in September. We're currently up to 65 dead and at least 200 people trapped under rubble. Canterbury has really been run through the mill these last few months. Thankfully, the North Island was spared any activity.

Have to say I'm really impressed with the Canterbury Mayor. He's calm, composed, compassionate and well spoken. He's a real figure for people to rally behind.

Hopefully the death toll won't go much higher.
