Has anyone found a USB-C car charger that is able to achieve 15W MagSafe speeds?

I have an Anker dual-USB-C car charger with 30W and 18W ports, but I don’t feel like it is achieving 15W charging. It definitely seems slower, but I’m not sure how to verify the charging speeds.

Bump...

Has anyone found a car charger that will pump 15W up through the Magsafe charger to the phone?
Yap Belkin has a 18watt & even a 20watt cigar-lighter charger with usb-c. I use the 18W with the magsafe-charger in the car and it works perfect. I did not test what the exact power is that I get through..but I read somewhere that if the charger is not the original apple wall charger, that the magsafe will be limited to max 12W.

Reviving this thread to get more input. I recently bought an Apple MagSafe puck, mounted it to my dash with this Anker charger & im getting ridiculously slow speeds.

Without having read the specs. of your car charger, make sure it is PD3.0 compliant and that it can output at least 9V and 2.22A (higher current is fine).

Also as the phone battery reaches a certain percentage, charging slows down.

Yeah. The Aukey 30w PD charger I linked is no longer on Amazon for some reason.
NVM... here is the reason https://www.tomsguide.com/news/amaz...vpower-and-other-brands-is-only-the-beginning

Luckily despite the fake or incentivized reviews, the unit DOES work very well. Still using it.
If you can, please provide the model # of this charger as I’m interested in getting this working in my truck.

So, how did you measure the output ? Did u use an app or hardware to test it ?
Also, I’ve noticed that my lightning to USB-C cable charges MUCH faster than this MagSafe puck plugged into the same car charger. Until the MS matches the speed of that, then I know I’m good. Starting off, it roughly charges about 1% per minute, then after about 20 mins, it goes to like 2% per minute. My MagSafe puck isn’t anywhere near that.
Thanks in advance !!!

All I can find in my amazon order records is the title "USB C Car Charger,AUKEY Car Charger Compatible with iPhone 12 Mini/12 Pro/12 Pro Max, 30W PD Car Charger Adapter,4.8A All Metal Mini Cigarette Lighter"

I DID use hardware to test the power output. I used this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NXRPNPR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As far as the Magsafe Puck vs the lightning to USB-C cable... no magsafe will NEVER charge as fast as a directly connected cable. That is just the nature of wireless charging. For ME though, the convenience of just slapping my phone on the magsafe charger in the car for both mounting/charging is worth more than the absolute fastest charging speed. With the magsafe adapter-in car... the charger can keep up with my usage (streaming audio + GPS) while also charging the phone at a reasonable rate, so it works perfectly for me.

The problem with many previous generation wireless chargers was:
  • The old-school chargers didn't "hold" the phone, so I had to deal with ratcheting arms or other contraptions to hold the phone in place, reducing the convenience factor of it being wireless.
  • Old school chargers didn't properly align the phone, so often I'd have sub-optimal charging
  • Old school chargers often couldn't keep up with the power drain from my in-car usage.. possibly due to the alignment issue above, partially because they maxed out at a theoretical 5-7.5w depending on the unit.

Yes, the convenience factor is def worth it. Much faster to just set it on or off the MagSafe w/ no bs. Also, not having to fiddle w/ cables is also nice.
I’m gonna try to order one of these Aukey chargers to test. I need a dual usb-c cuz I alsohave a watch charger in my truck.
Thanks for your input !!!
