The charger will intermittently start and stop charging every few seconds after initially connecting it and then stop all together after a few minutes. I have to beleive it is a software issue. If I boot up in recovery mode the battery starts charging up fine with no start/stops. I anyone else having a battery charging issue since updating. I just updated to Beta 4 today hoping it would be resolved, but it is still happening.

UPDATE: The charger in question is a new (one month old) Mag 3. I have two of the same chargers for home and office. I just tried the other one and it is charging with no issue. If I plug the suspect charger in, it starts/stops charging. It is appears to be the cable itself. I can't explain why it would charge in recovery mode... perhaps the cable is cutting out when the apps start drawing power... Regardless. I will be replacing the cable. It DOES NOT appear to be a Sonoma Beta issue.

I am having the exact same issue w Sonoma 14 Beta. I have a brand new MacBook Pro M2 max. Never had a problem before I switch to Sonoma Beta. Whether I use the MagSafe charger or a USB 3 charger it doesn't matter. Same result. Intermittently starting and stopping charging every few seconds. I tried turning off the computer and charging while off and it worked for a little while, but then my MacBook Pro somehow boots back up on its own and starts doing it again. The only difference is mine does not eventually stop altogether after a few minutes. It just keeps intermittently charging and eventually gets to 100% charge, but it's maddening.

I guess I will try checking my cable. But I've tried with two different cables already.

I should note: The new MagSafe 3 that was not working was an aftermarket. The one that was working was a Mac MagSafe 3. I purchased another Mac MagSafe and it is charging just fine. I am wondering if it is some sneaky trick that Mac is employing to sell their own parts.

My situation is a bit different. I bought a brand new MacBook Pro and I am using the original charger. It worked perfectly for several weeks before I switch to the Sonoma Beta iOS. I have also tried to use other chargers to no avail. The only solution I have at this moment is to turn off my computer and then it charges without the start and stop interruption. As a sidenote my battery life went from 100% to 98% and now 96% use for life. At this rate it will be totally damaged if I do not find a solution. Thanks for the feedback.

I have the same issue too since last Sonoma 14 23A5337a beta.

same here with the release version. aftermarket cable worked perfectly fine just before I've installed Sonoma. tried the original magsafe 3 with both original and aftermarket charges - works OK.

I have the same problem with Sonoma (not Beta). I have 2 cables, one in the office (the original one) and one in my room (the "chinese" one). The "chinese" one started making the connection/disconnection thing and it stops charging. I hope they will have a fix for this.
