I saw over the last couple days some type of rubber/plastic (maybe even neoprene?) case/holder that you put the MBP magsafe adapter in and then you could wind the cord around it. I think it was orange in color.

Does anyone know what this item is called?

Look on the sides of your MagSafe ... it has 2 things that pop out just for winding your cord ... plus the way those things heat up ... does not seem wise to wrap them in anything

Does that mean the cable holders on the MagSafe adapter don't suffice?

You know, I have had my MacBooks/MacBookPros since they moved to the Intel platform and have never noticed those hooks. DOH!

But I do agree, the transformers get quite warm, wrapping them in something like silicon is not a good idea.
