The first review is done by a professional digital reviewer @钟文泽 (Weibo, ~ 1.99 million fans, also has a Bilibili account), in his review, he paired the MSBP with an iPhone 12 Pro (iOS 14.7)

(Link: https://weibo.com/1906286443/KpD07poLc , if it doesn’t work, try this one: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1bw41197aK)

His unit came with a 0% battery, so he used a 61w MBP charger to charge it, results are 15min 34% and 30min 58% respectively. (Reminder: These numbers are the charging times of the MSBP). He claimed that when using a charger less than 27w, the charging speed of the MSBP will be slower.

The reviewer then moved on to test the MSBP with an iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 14.7 update. Ironically, the reviewer avoided testing the direct charging time of the MSBP initially, and first showcased a scenario where the MSBP is plugged into a 20w external power adapter and worked as a wireless charging pad at 15w charging speed, in this case, the charging speed is 30min 33%. In the end, he disclosed the direct charging power and time of the MSBP, 5w 30min 20%.

For comparison, there’s another amateur review video made by @AyaLinus on Bilibili (Link: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1nB4y1K7rS), when used the MSBP with his 12 Pro (or Max, he did not specify), off the screen and no usage, for a half-hour, the phone charged from 41% to 45%. It’s worth noting that, unlike @钟文泽, @AyaLinus got his unit from Apple Store (Retail).

I hope these info will help you decide on whether to purchase the MagSafe Battery Pack.

The charging speed is quite terrible for a power bank.. means that this thing is going to be attached there for a long time.

I have followed @钟文泽's further testing, it seems if you're using both devices at 100% battery, the Battery Pack won't charge before your phone falls below 90%, and there are also people complaining about a bug that the battery pack sometimes won't charge at all. And as I have guessed, if you're playing games or running high-performance apps, the charging speed is not enough to offset the battery drain speed. So...There's also speculation that iOS 14.7.1 is on its way to fix some of the bugs related to wireless charging (doubt it).

Generally being connected to 5G seems to be enough to drain faster than it charges...
