Are the new Apple cases primarily secured by MagSafe rather than friction/pressure as before? This would be kind of cool if so
I'm curious about this too, as the clear one has a white circle and line on it. Since the phone already has MagSafe in it, I don't see why the case would need it too unless that's how it's being held on?
Yeah, not sure about the line but the circle will be magnets. The magnets in the phone need magnets in the case to attract to
Makes me think not all cases will work as apple has cases with the circle on itSo presumably all third party cases won’t allow MagSafe charging through the cases? Unless they update them to include magnetic coils?
Or would MagSafe be strong enough to charge through thin cases?

I honestly don't even see the appeal of the regular MagSafe charger. It's no more useful than either a Lightning cable or the wireless chargers I've used for years. It's just one more cable to carry around. MagSafe sounds more like a passing fad than anything.
I think you are thinking in the right direction! They need to ease us into this like an old man getting into a bathtub.I honestly think it's the first step in removing the lightning port from iPhone. This will eventually be its replacement
