MagSafe Charger Firmware Version - What is yours?

I came across this article showing how to check the firmware version of the MagSafe Charger. The firmware version in the article shows version 174.0.

The firmware version on mine is 171.0 (United States)

Is the difference due to region or something else?

Please reply with the firmware version of your MagSafe Charger and the Country you live in.

Mines 171 I suspect you need your phone on the magsafe to upgrade the firmware. I’ll try later today.

That's what I thought at first. However, I have seen a couple of tweets and posts on reddit that imply the it was updated in the last couple of weeks.

No update yet. I have searched for information as well, and found nothing.
 
Location USA model A2140 Firmware Version 174.0.0.0
If passed along updates work the same as the air pods, just leave it on your phone, it should be automatically downloaded. One thought could be the actual model number could be different by country, follow the article to view your MagSafe charger info.

Finally updated to 174 after plugging into a Mac (I am a lowly Windows user 🤕). Time to buy a Mac.
