Depends - is your car’s USB port USB-C? What is its power rating?
Otherwise, there are several good cigarette lighter adapters that will work.

If your vehicle has USB C then yes it should produce enough power for you to use the MagSafe charger.

What about into a cigarette lighter with a usb-a adapter. I’m just afraid to plug my phone into my truck. Every time I do the phone gets hot.

What’s the point? Magsafe saves you one step; plugging in your phone. You essentially have to unplug it when you are done. Why would you need MagSafe in your car?

You can’t get a surge thru a magnet like you can plugging it in.

“Apple says the MagSafe Charger will charge with any adapter greater than 12W, but at a reduced rate. Tests show around 10W or less when used with adapters below 20W.”

This was a great question I was wondering about… My car also uses USB a. So it sounds like the cigarette lighter might actually provide enough power, if there’s a cigarette lighter to USB C adapter, and then plug MagSafe into that?

It’s a usb-a
You can't plug a MagSafe charger into a USB-A receptacle, so it's a moot point. The MagSafe charger has a USB-C connector.

If you buy a cigarette lighter plug with USB-C and enough wattage, it will power the MagSafe charger and charge your phone.
