So the other night around 2 am I heard my iPhone 13 pro max make the charging sound when it was on it’s charging stand. I thought maybe it does this but I was sleeping soundly I didn’t hear it.

So my question is does this happen by design or did some weird thing happen? This is my first MagSafe device.

Does your charging stand charge multiple things at once? For example, the one in my kitchen can charge my phone and watch at the same time. The problem is that if I use the standard iphone charging brick to power it, there's not enough power available for both the phone and watch. This causes them to spaz out if I charge them together. They randomly disconnect and reconnect to the charging pads, thus making the "charging started" sound at odd times. I switched to a different USB adapter with more amps and the problem went away.

My stand does charge the phone and watch but each use their own charging bricks. The watch one is apple’s that sits inside the stand. The phone one does the same.

I was thinking maybe when a charge is complete it could make a sound like elegend you place it in the stand.

This happened again overnight, twice. I get the charging sound just sitting on the stand. This is the charger I got from Amazon.

Im also having this problem on my 13 Mini. Doesnt matter if I use the Apple MagSafe charger puck or some "MagSafe Compatible" thing from Anker, Belkin, etc...

Really? Does it happen each time you charge? So far only a few times over night. I just ordered the Apple magsafe charger to see if this helps. I have the 13 pro max

Could it be that your phone rebooted due to an iOS update? I'm pretty sure that when my phone is connected to my magsafe charger, and it reboots or boots up after being dead, it makes the magsafe sound.
Side note: I wish there was a way to turn that sound down. It seems super loud, almost at full volume for me, no matter what time of the day or night.

Not likely. Last night it happened twice; 1:50am and 3:10am - I'm sure it was after my phone was fully charged. I've ordered an Apple magsafe charger which come tomorrow. BTW its not the sound magsafe makes, but the sound like when you plug it to charge.

You are not alone. I found this thread when searching the same issue I have. OEM MagSafe, no update. I plan on muting my phone at night. I hope this gets addressed. It’s woken me a few times.

I just got a 13 (pink!) and an official Apple magsafe charger (used with an official Apple 20 watt PSU)

It's disconnecting and connecting fairly regularly as I use it.

Is this a problem with all of them? With my unit? Is it going to get worse?

I don't know if I should return the phone? Try buying a second magsafe charger? Just put up with it and hope it doesn't get worse?

The charger's firmware is the newest version, if that helps...

I think this graph shows every time it disconnected. It’s been connected to power the entire time and should never have disconnected ?

Wow. This picture definitely shows weird and abnormal behavior.

I have a 13 Pro Max and two different original Apple MagSafe charging pucks - owned since I got the phone in September - and I have never experienced this behavior. I have charged almost exclusively via MagSafe and have never had it disconnect itself while charging. I regularly check the battery info in Settings after charging to see background activity and I have never noticed a disconnection, nor have I heard it make the sound while in the middle of charging.

Something is not right there. I would get in touch with Apple Support. In fact, one of the main selling points of the whole iPhone MagSafe charging thing is a more reliable and stable connection ensured by the magnetic connection.

Just a thought… do any of you with this problem use a case that does not specifically support MagSafe charging? I use the genuine Apple silicone case with my phone. Maybe a thicker third-party case has something to do with the unreliable MagSafe connection..? But Apple Original case or not, it is supports MagSafe, the case should not cause this issue.

Okay, that’s what I was scared of ?

Thank you.

I haven’t used a case at all.

Has anyone found a fix for this? My iPhone 13 promax does this usI get the Apple charger and no case. It sounds like it does it to people when the phone is fully charged. Makes me wonder if turning off the battery optimized charging might do something?
