My magsafe line got crushed a bit by something, my fault.
But is normal for the light on the magsafe to take a second or two to light up as soon as its plugged in?
The mac still charges and everything else seems to be normal.

Yes, it's perfectly normal, nothing to worry about.

And to make sure I just tested my MagSafe and it took a moment before the light indicated anything. :)

Yeah, I think there's a delay as the power gets to the battery I suppose, and when the adaptor head detects that and lights up.
