Magsafe extension

I'm looking for an extension for the magsafe side of the cord on a MB Air. I want to use the laptop on a higher pedestal, and don't want to have the "brick" up on there with me. I want to leave the brick on the floor, but need a longer magsafe end.

Does anyone make something like this?

Apple hasn't licensed other people to make the mag safe connector.

for a while someone was making a battery pack with a magsafe, but they had to buy a power supply from apple, cut the cord and connector off and then attach the cord to their battery.
I think apple may have given them a cease and desist. don't remember how it turned out.

The problem is, that magsafe cable from Apple contains the microchip that identifies the charger. You'd need a dumb cable without that chip.
