So do you all think MagSafe is here to stay and be the new standard for iPhone?

Will it come to AirPods, iPad, Apple Watch later down the line?

Reason I am asking is because I am considering the Belkin Boost Charge Pro when it comes out but am thinking whether it is worth the 150 price, if there is a chance Apple are going to ditch the idea in a years time...

My own guess is it will be around for a while. I’m thinking that  is going to eventually ditch the lightning port and this will be what you have to charge the phone. Well this and other wireless chargers. Only thing they would have to figure out is data transfer, and they could of already done that for all I know.

Yeah that’s what I am thinking, I think they probably will have already nailed data transfer just likely needs activating via software... I can imagine the next magic keyboard and iPads having MagSafe also tbh...

It’s one of those things whether to take the plunge and invest in the new tech or not bother lol

Granted I’ve only been using my 12 pro Max and MagSafe charger for one night now...I like it. I mounted the MagSafe puck to the back of my headboard with double sided tape. Just slap my phone up there and it holds in place, vertically. Someone calls or texts while I’m in bed I just have to look up at the headboard to see who it is.

Here to stay but you can bet on a newer version next year. Apple is having to many issues. The Leather and Silicon case are coming loose from some of the corners and the wallet is not as strong a hold. I expect we will see a newer stronger version in the next few iPhone models.

I wish it wasn't wireless. Something like the iPad Smart Connector + magnets.

Faster charging with less heat, faster data transfers (lightning is still USB 2.0 speed??), and still could be called MagSafe. They could've even made cases with a passthrough for the connection.

For now, I don't see myself using it.

It’s the future. They’ll be adding data support in a year or two and faster charging speeds once the battery tech can handle it.
