Can anyone tell me is there a recall on the 85w MagSafe 2 for the Macbook Pro Retina 15". This is my second replacement of this product that I had to buy. It over heats and just stop working. I don't know if its something I did or is it the MacBook Pro's issue or just that this product isn't meant to last. Can anyone help me ?

Here is the page that lists recalls, but it's not on there.

I think you just had plain bad luck. That said, were there visible frayed parts? Are you sure you're really careful with the DC power cord? (I.e. the part with the MagSafe connector?) Don't roll it up tightly around the duck wings.

It's the capacitance box which over heated somehow. There were no frayed parts, in addition regarding the DC cord it was fine because I tested it with a different capacitance box and it worked perfect. I later funder out that if I use the DC cord often it will over heat the capacitance box thus causing the capacitance box not store or circulate the charge.
