Failed to fix the cables attached to both sides of the Air problem when connecting to a cinema display. Was this really a difficult fix??

There is 3 ports the cinema display use. MagSafe DisplayPort and USB.
I guess the could not fit all 3 on one side cause of the space, so one has to go on the other side.

Interestingly, on this page, they have the MBA hooked up to a Cinema Display, but without the MagSafe cable plugged in - just the Mini-DP and USB plugged in on the right hand side.

what's interesting about that? all it means is that is Air isn't recharging while its attached to the cinema display.

i'm surprised Jobs didn't insist on getting all the cables on one side of the Air for aesthetic reasons.

It's interesting - 'cause why wouldn't you have the MagSafe plugged in? It's not plugged in in that picture for aesthetic reasons. Im pretty sure you *can* connect the MagSafe too - it just won't look as pretty ('cause it's on the other side) so Apple didn't include it in the picture.

It's supposed to be plugged in at both sides the same time, making it look like the MBA is wearing earplugs...

that's a nice way of visualizing it.

obviously this isn't a deal breaker but it would look cleaner if all the cables were going to one side.

and while i'm completely unqualified to hold the following opinion, i have a hard time imagining that getting the USB, MagSafe and DisplayPort all on one side is an impossible engineering feat.

As I just said in another thread, same exact way it's always been.

And yes, it's ugly when plugged into the ACD.

Can someone confirm that the cables are long enough to plug in all 3 at one time?

I have a 24in cinema display (in another city) and the cables seem pretty short - i would guess too short to reach around both sides of the computer...

Here is a quote from my post on another thread.

Very interesting point to bring up!

Take a look at the below picture:

In their MacBook Air video, they have the MagSafe on the left and Mini DisplayPort/USB on the right.
