I have an early 2009 MacBook. I was wondering that if my MagSafe ever stopped working, could I buy an L shaped from the Apple store and if it would work? I know the connection is the same, and I heard it doesn't matter if the wattage is higher.

Yes, it will work. I have a T and L shape MagSafe power adapter for my 2009 MBP. The actual pin layout is the same.

While the pin layout is the same , it may not work, some older macbooks WILL NOT work with the L shaped connector.

the information can be looked up on everymac

I've heard reports that older MacBooks wont' work with the L magsafe, but I've never had an trouble using one on my 2007 MacBook.

They don't get much older than that.
