Hi all,

I'M NOT SELLING THESE!! I apologise if I'm not allowed to share things like this!

I personally love MagSafe, and I am sad to see it go. BUT:

There are a couple of options out there, that can "replace" it.

1. The ZAPTIP - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/zaptip-world-s-first-magnetic-usb-c-super-charger-phone#/

2. Griffin BreakSafe - https://griffintechnology.com/us/breaksafe-magnetic-usb-c-power-cable

The Griffin one is a little bit bulky, and doesn't look safe, if and when you carry your laptop in a bag.

The ZAPTIP looks a little better, as the connector's head is little. The little tip is $9 if I recall correctly.
I am however not sure if they actually started selling them.

Thanks, Alex

EDIT: I removed the 3rd option, because the reviews on it are not good. (Thanks Heart Break Kid)

I'm hoping that in time there will be some better options than the Griffin which sticks out too far. I'd also really like to see a Magsafe adapter that shows charging/charged lights like the old style Magsafe adapters.

I'm wondering if this will be such a problem. If the cables easily pull out it might not be a problem. I'll see if it's actually an issue and deal with it if it is.

Good point.

I guess we will have to wait and see. I would like to buy a 15" MBP, and was a bit sad to see MagSafe go.

True, we will need those indicator lights. I bet there is going to be a company that will come out with the perfect solution for this.

I was too. But I'll figure it out. With 10 hour battery you can just plug it in somewhere at the end of the day like an iPad. iPad doesn't have MagSafe and that never caused me any issues.

We can move on. It's a little thing. The worst thing they could have removed was the dGPU from the 15". Or return to a lower resolution display. That really would've stopped sales, lol.

That third option, ZNAPS appears to be vaporware. Lots of angry folks in the comments.

The maker has been linked to another crowd sourced project that also came to nothing.

Apple Daily reported on Thursday that the sole director of Znaps Limited, a Hong Kong distributor of Znaps Inc., is Gloria Lau, who is the wife of Nelson Chiu.

Nelson Chiu and his brother Benson Chiu had been accused of cheating investors in a crowdfunding effort for a smart coffeemaker called Arist after they failed to ship the products on schedule.

The two brothers had raised HK$6.55 million through online crowdfunding.

Do any of these support 87W for the 15" version? Obviously you can charge at lower wattage, but it would take longer. All of the ones I've looked at are made for the MacBook at a lower wattage.

Ah. That's good to know, thanks. I didn't read the comments. I'll remove it.

Love it. Thanks for the link. The Griffin one looks good.

You're welcome.

Yeah, doesn't look too bad, other than the size. :p Could be a little smaller.

I really have no clue. I'll guess we'll have to find out by either someone testing it, or actually contacting the companies.

That company used to be Apple.

Lol, good point.

Based on the comments of the ZAPTIP, looks like it's vaporware as well. Last "update" from the company was 7 months ago stating they were having issues. Looks like the Griffin is the only option.

Eek, sorry, and thanks. :p I thought these would be good but never mind then... :p
