Magsafe Wallet 2 and Background Usage

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a Magsafe 2 Wallet

Does the Wallet consume additional battery power " Background Usage " like the Airtag as it uses the Find My app ??

It's not like Airtag. It just keeps the location where the wallet was disconnected from your phone.

Question: if the wallet is in the same room (but NOT attach to iPhone), then is location still being recorded? OR does the phone only record location at time that it detaches physically from phone?
