Magsafe: Worth it? Who's using, favorite accessories, etc.

Seeking a few more recommendations - what's your favorite car mount?

I have had an iOttie dash/windshield mount for years now and it's been pretty decent, but occasionally the suction cup just kinda gives up when there's noticeable temperature swings. But I've also only ever had so-so luck with the vent-clip style mounts and that was with just my iPhone 11. I'm worried that with a bigger phone like the 14PM I'm getting that the vent kind won't be able to hold up that weight. Kind of on the fence about getting a charging mount or not as well, could go either way on that...

I have also heard some saying that the camera bump on the 14PM gets in the way for certain magsafe mounts and that ones where the mag-circle is a bit raised will connect better.

Looking at these two unless others have a different recommendation?

I have a MagSafe charger, that’s it.

I keep looking into wallets but haven’t found one I like. I need something to hold 2-3 cards but also has a strap or something to stop the cards from just sliding out. I know the apple ones don’t stretch out like that (I don’t like how they look), but I don’t trust 3rd party ones after I lost cards out of a wallet case As the slots stretched out.
Have you checked out Distil Union? I haven't bought anything from them in a while (whenever I checked, they were out of stock), but they make quality products. I believe they're also sold on Amazon.

A MagSafe stand without charging I could see being useful with the AOD of the 14 Pro. I wouldn’t want it to charge because I definitely do not want my phone being constantly topped off. I’m not super anal about my battery health but constantly leaving it on a charger all the time sure seems like a great way to kill it quicker.

I mean my 12 Pro Max sat on a MagSafe charging stand like 16 hours a day every day for 2 years, and it was still at 88% battery health when I sold it after upgrading to the 14 PM. Given that I was regularly averaging 6 hours of screen on time a day, I highly doubt the battery health levels were any noticeable amount degraded from where they would have been with full optimized cord charging.

Plus, you can always just use a MagSafe charger stand and disconnect the USB C from the power brick if you really want it as a stand and don't want it charging at that point.

So I’m kinda curious about the MagSafe battery packs. Admittedly I’ve not really looked into them at all, so perhaps this is a bit of a lazy/ignorant question but… do any of them function as a “traditional” power bank, too? It would be nice if it could be used as a MagSafe pack for iPhone, but also as a USB battery/charger for other non-MagSafe items.
I'm pretty sure you can do USB-C to Lightning wired too with the Anker. If I remember I can check when I get home

I think MagSafe is a great feature - possibly the best thing about upgrading my iPhone 7 to a 12 Mini. I have an ESR mount on my desk and one in each of my cars. Just being able to place my iPhone in my eyeline and have it charge without any cables makes my life so much easier.

I use a Belkin 2 in 1 night stand charger which charges my phone and AirPods overnight and also use the MagSafe wallet throughout the day.
Both products are really good and suit my everyday needs perfectly.

At first I thought it was gimmicky but now I find it very useful. My favorite is an anker MagSafe battery pack, so much better than wired battery packs. I also started using the MagSafe popsocket
Which model are you using? I'm considering buying the Anker 621 or 633 Maggo but there're some comments said that they have overheating issue with these battery packs.

My second phone with MagSafe capabilities.

1. I use a MagSafe wallet with kick stand every day for carrying a couple of essential cards plus adhoc video watching pleasure and random selfie sessions.

2. Use Apple MagSafe duo charger for the  Watch and phone while travelling. Which is pretty often in my case.

3. Use a MagSafe battery pack for long day outs on holidays / hiking trips.

4. Use a MagSafe car phone holder / charger while out and about.

I’d say that’s pretty much sums up a normal day to day use case.

If you start using it then you see the convenience of it. If you don’t use it you’ll never know and your life will not be any worse either way I guess.

You don’t end up with a ring on your case from the charger?

I love my MagSafe wallet. I couldn't go back to a regular wallet now. I like the idea of MagSafe charging, but it tends to destroy batteries.

I bought a Yosh MagSafe holder for my car and it’s good. Not bothered about a charger as I charge overnight anyway. Also not bothered by a MagSafe wallet as it’s rare I need to carry cards with every shop having contactless payments since 2007. I use my watch or phone for nearly all purchases.
