Hi folks,

this time I have an issue with IMAP.

Mail under MacOS X uses the folder "Sent Messages" on the IMAP server, but Thunderbird uses the folder "Sent".

My provider offers IMAP since a few weeks and I wanted to switch to IMAP in general because I would have all my e-mails available on different machines no matter where I am.

On my Macs I always used Mail and I refuse to switch to another mail application. The problem is that currently I am using a Windows XP laptop for "on the road" with Thunderbird as the E-Mail client.

Because of the different folders for the sent items used by both programs I can't really switch to IMAP now.

Does anybody know a way to tell Thunderbird to use the folder "Sent Messages" instead of "Sent"??? or how to tell Mail to use the folder "Sent"...?

Thanks in advance! 🙂

Never mind... found the solution myself.

In Thunderbird you can customize which foldernames are supposed to be used for the standard folders. You can find the settiing in Tools -> Accounts -> "the regarding IMAP account" -> Copies and Folders.

Have a nice day!
