Hi All,

Im having problems with OS X Lion Mail (Version 5.2 (1257)) and my GoDaddy IMAP.

When I move mail from my inbox to imap folders locally everything appears to be correct. However on the server it doesn't move the mail it copies it. Then when i refresh my local inbox I also show one message in the inbox and one in the folder I moved it to.

This only happens when moving messages from the inbox to an IMAP folder.

If i move messages between IMAP folders the problem doesn't occur.

I have tried both the CMD click to move the message and right click > move....

none of these work.

I have contacted GoDaddy, but they are not interested as they says its a Mac issue not a go daddy server issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Its driving me crazy!

Regards,

Sam

I'm not familiar with GoDaddy's email services, but it doesn't sound like you actual inbox is setup in the IMAP protocol. Is there there a way you do that?

Maybe you can set up an alternate inbox that is an IMAP folder and set up a rule that sends all incoming mail to that folder, so that when you move items around, they actually move rather than copy.
