Is it possible to get a mail notification (growl style) without install any third-party applications like Growl.

I think that really sucks. I mean shure, you got the notification in the dock but since my corp mail is included in a lot of lists there notification is pointless.

Is it possible to maybe show only the inbox and not include some folders then?

Aaah, just saw that option. Still want more notifications like the growl style.

I use Herald, but is you don't want to install anything you could make an Applescript to give a a popup when a new mail comes in.

I love Herald. It's an amazing plugin that really has boosted my productivity by allowing me to read and manage the messages in the pop-up. It has none of the bugs of Growl and is a lot better than a counter in the menu bar.
