The Mail app behaves in an unexpected way. When I highlight to search text in an email, the search is performed in Safari and not my default browser, Chrome. However, when I click links inside the Mail app, they open in my default browser. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?

For example, here's a Bloomberg email that I received:

And here's the result opening in Safari:

As this has been happening even on the latest MacOS 27 betas, I logged a feedback thing.

FB23263779 which, unsurprisingly, has been ignored so far.

Can someone confirm that this happens happens within the EU as well? A report to Apple US or UK will likely go unnoticed but I wonder if this is considered anticompetitive under EU rules because it comes across as favoring Safari at the expense of Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Brave, etc.? I've had this problem forever so I doubt it's a simple oversight on Apple's part. If so, maybe someone in the EU can submit feedback to the relevant area in Apple or to an org in charge for making sure this is in compliance with competition rules.
