Mail.app "on port 0 timeout" please help

please help me sir, everytime i get my email it says [ The connection to the server "mail.myserver.com" on port 0 timed out. ] i checked the port it says 110. i pinged my mail server, it is OK,. but why still i recieve this msg and cant get my inbox. please help i need it before my boss comes here.🙁

More information will be needed. Are you using mail? And are you tring to get company email or email from yahoo or the likes.....?
