Mail App Problem

Whenever I pull my computer out of standby, the mail app tries to configure a new account and pops up in my dock. It just started doing this out of no-where. I'm guessing that something is causing it to start, but where would I look to disable this? I do not use the apple mail client at all. Thanks in advance!

Go to System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login Items
and then select Mail from that menu and then just press the minus button on the bottom left.

Try going to Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility and repair permission for that partition.
