I've recently moved from Windows to MacOS and decided to go all-in and also move all my email and calendar stuff to Apple's systems. My move has is anything reinforced the love-hate attitude I'd already formed over the last 15 years of iPhone (and as soon as it was released also iPad) use because while I mostly love my new Mac sometimes I encounter something so dumb I think WTF Apple. This morning was one of those times.
I like to set not only one or more audible alerts before an appointment but also an email alert about 12 hours beforehand so that when I sit down at my PC (Mac) in the morning, as part of my vert first thing I do new email review I'll not be able to miss the emails to remind me of everything that is coming up that day without me needing to remember to check my calendar. It occurred to me though that for some reason that had mostly not been working, only occasionally would I see an email for an appointment in my inbox, and I'm pretty sure that I've just discovered why.
I got up this morning and did something that I admit I don't do often enough - I checked my junk folder. Yup, you guessed it. Apple iCloud+ email accessed via the built in Apple Mail app has been flagging as spam the alert emails sent from Apple's Calendar system as set up using Apple's built in Calendar app! There's absolutely nothing in that Apple information flow that isn't 100% Apple software or services.
Like I said up front - WTF Apple!
Has anyone else seen this behaviour. I'm on the latest Tahoe 26.6.2 release.
