does anybody know why mail is completely broken in the betas. Syncing doesn’t work, displaying some emails doesn’t work etc. it’s not a massive change in iOS 13 so I am questioning why it is so broken vs other apps.

I have the bug where it shows unread messages but there isn’t any. It has gotten a little better with bets 3. But still shows one unread.

Usually force closing the mail app will reset the unread bug. But I have to do it one a day or so.

I just upgraded to beta 3 and have noticed significantly improved performance. Before I was looking at mail alternatives to the stock app. I am no longer considering them.

This happens a lot with the betas for major releases. I filed a bunch of radars around iOS 11 or 10 and corresponded a lot with the engineers back then for similar problems. It seems they keep trying out new code and backing off when they can’t get it to work ;-)

Scheduled fetch and notifications not occurring for non push capable Favorited mailboxes in iOS 13 betas (17A5522f).

This feature was available in iOS 12 where scheduled fetch and notifications did occur for non push enabled favorited mailboxes.

It is so frustrating that I have stopped using stock mail app and managing with Outlook. Hope, it will be taken care in 4th beta.

I'm also seeing an intermittent issue where the new mail count stays after reading unless I am on LTE

I finally installed Outlook this morning - I have been very close to smashing my phone or almost wanting to throw it out the window on several occasions during this horrendous ordeal. I state again, for such an old and mature app, which really hasn’t received much attention in terms of new features, I have no idea why it’s so atrociously broken.

BETA!!!

Archive an email, and Mail crashed.
iCloud is slow and wonky.
Feels more alpha than any beta.
Very very slow operations and this on iPhone X.

Launched Twitter and it crashed.
Edit a screenshot in IG and before I could click Done the system crashed.

Even autocorrect spelling seems worse.
I don’t yet see much good

Safari engine and pop up options, though I detest and don’t see the point of Reader View having font list (wrong place, needs to be in Safari Settings). I just want to switch between web page view and Reader view.

which horrendous ordeal? the one in which you willingly chose to test out an unfinished beta software?

You don't understand the point of beta software do you?

My mail had been broken from Dev beta 1 and continues. The most maddening part it’s also broken on Catalina. My iPad on the other hand is getting all the email and it’s also running iPadOS beta

Deleting it and re-adding it worked for me. No problems the last few days.

Does any else have an issue with printing an email? I select print and no setup box, no dialog box, no printer selection, hence no printing. Or am I doing something wrong. iPad 12.9 gen3

The default mail app having issues pushed me to check out Spark. It’s actually a very clean mail client, and I’ll probably stick with it. It’s worth looking into.

I looked at Spark and then went to the review on mac rumors. I chose their number one choice and I’m using it now and it’s working. Edison mail, although Spark was a close second. I’ll see if I’ll stick with it.

I hope people have reported mail issues on feedback assistant.
I think the more numbers of people report, the higher is the priority of it getting rectified.
