Mail: Confirmation of mail reception

I've looked every place in Mail, so I must assume that it doesn't have the option for the sender to receive some kind of a confirmation that his mail got to the recipient.

Is there a plug-in or third party add-on that will allow for this in Mail?

Since it's not really a fully supported feature on all mail platforms (heck - it doesn't even work on Exchange sometimes!) it's not built in to Mail. There's a script out there somewhere that does it, but I found it to be nearly worthless since people (like me) can just choose to default to never sending a confirmation.
