Mail corrupting attachments

Hi all

Desperately need help to work this one out.
Mail is converting my pdf attachments to jpg files.

I have searched high and low for info on fixing the problem, also on WHAT the actual problem is to begin with too.

No changes have been made to my preferences over the past few weeks, yet since Monday this week, my Mail hates pdf attachments and converts everything to jpg.

Any gurus out there who can help? 😕

I know you said you didn't change your prefs, but maybe they have become corrupted? Try quitting Mail, then going into

<home folder>/Library/Preferences

and then find "com.apple.mail.plist" and move it onto the desktop (don't delete it yet). Then restart Mail and see if it still converts PDFs into JPGs. If it doesn't, then I'd say it's some sort of corrupted prefs file. If it still has the same problem then it's not a prefs issue, so put the com.apple.mail.plist file on the desktop back into the Preferences folder.
