In the past, I had my Mail synchronized to my office POP email account.

A couple of days ago, I enabled Mail with my Gmail account.

However when I check my inbox, I realize that all my emails (from my office account) have disappeared. Does anyone know where I can get them back?

Could I have lost those messages because I hit the (-) button when creating my Gmail account, thus deleting my old account?

For the record, I've checked in Library too.

Yeah, you deleted your old account.

There's a folder in your Library called Mail. Within this you might be able to find your old emails, if they haven't already been deleted. Quit Mail and check if your old messages are in there. I think they'll be in a folder named after your account. :)

Somebody probably needs to second this, but I believe deleting an account also wipes out any messages, folders, etc you had under it. Seems you might be out of luck, unless you didn't have Mail synchronize with your work server, in which case you could simpy add your POP server back to Mail and download them all again.

Good luck.

Oh christ.

I just switched servers a couple of months ago, been operating out of Gmail since :-x
