Hi,
I have set up Mail with my Gmail acount using the Google Sync feature following this instruction: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740

If I get a mail to my inbox I instantly gets pushed to the Mail client on the iPad and I see a badge. If I get a mail to a folder, however, I just hear a sound but I don't see a badge on the Mail icon indicating a new mail.

I have already clicked on Mail forward under the Mail settings and selected the folder but it does not matter.

Still no solution?

I too am looking for a solution to this. I use filters in gmail to put email from common senders into mailbox folders (I.e. Label them and remove them from the inbox). This makes managing email sooooo much easier, quicker and tidier. However I do not get notified of new emails to anything other than the inbox. Even when I force a check mail routine new message do not show. When I open the mailbox (filter folder) - hey presto there are unread messages. Grrr.

anyway to solve this?

Try mobile me. Or a gmail forum. I personally have never used any of Google's services. The price for Google is too high for me.
