Mail - Don't send messages immediately?

Is there any way to send a message to the outbox then send messages later? Ive tried going offline and clicking send, but theres no outbox shown, then when i go online they just send. I suppose thats a workaround but how come theres no outbox?

Neither Mail nor Thunderbird have Outboxes to which you send prepared mail. It is one of the reasons I use Eudora (a great email app, tho' some say it's outdated). Entourage also has Outbox. I suggest you change to one of those two email applications.

Another way round it if using Mail or Thunderbird is to Save to Drafts, so you can check and 2x-check what you're prepared.

How about keeping it in your draft folder. Then when you are ready just click send.
