Mail: draft copies of emails already sent

does anyone know why draft copies of emails already sent are still kept in the draft folder? I'm new to mac
Also, why are several drafts kept of the same email?

I have the same thing happen sometimes and I believe it is a bug in Mail.

If you select the Drafts folder then go to the Mailbox menu and click Rebuild, then restart Mail afterward, that seems to stop the behavior for awhile.
