Mail / Entourage Problem

Hi there,
I'm a complete Apple novice, so excuse my ignorance!

I have managed to access my work emails (Exchange based) via Mail using the auto-setup feature, however Entourage refuses to play games, and despite entering the same email / login etc. I am unable to get any emails synced nor can I send an email.

The work IT guys don't officially support hardware that isn't company supplied so are unable to help.

Is there any reason why Mail will work fine yet Entourage is having problems? Ultimately I'm trying to evaluate the best email solution, so would like to be able to try out Entourage fully.

Which version of Entourage are you using?

Since you say that Apple Mail is working with your Exchange server, I'm going to assume that your server is Exchange 2007. If that's the case, you should try to download Entourage for Web Services and try it. It's faster and provides better Exchange functionality than Entourage 2008 or earlier. Its auto-discover should pick up your Exchange information without a problem when you set it up.
