I have noticed a lot of email addresses that I nolonger use that are in my email memory but not in my address book .How do I get rid of the email addresses? Thanks

Hmm if you mean when you are typing into the To, cc, or Bcc fields and it comes up with an old address of yours (eventhough you erased it in the Address book). That probably means that you still have emails in your inbox (or stored in some other folder) that contain your old addresses. I think Mail first checks what you're typing in the address book for a match, and if it doesn't find it, it will check other emails in Mail for a matching address. The only solution would be to delete those emails I guess.

Now if you're talking about having multiple addresses in the From list that you no longer use, that's because you still have those accounts set up in your preferences. You might want to go into your prefs and make the account inactive (sorry about the lack of details I'm working from memory..I'm on a PC right now :( ) If that doesn't work, I'd try to delete the SMTP settings (or blank them out). If all else fails you can delete the entire account set up in your prefs.
