Mail icon keeps disappearing from Dock

My mail.app icon keeps disappearing from the dock. It usually seems to happen after I've woken the computer from sleep. I then have to re-open Mail and again check the "keep in dock" option. It's not happening every time, but has happened about 4 times since I got my 2012 iMac in December.

Hi, I wouldn't worry about it too much because it happens to me too. It also happens to the Safari icon that also just disappears once in while. I just drag the apps from the application folder and drop them back down in the dock. Like I said, it doesn't happen too often but it does happen occasionally. 
