I'm filtering a couple POP accounts through gMail IMAP.

I have the accounts checked "enabled" in Mail advanced preferences and the box "Include when automatically checking for new mail" unchecked. This allows me to read the POP mail in the Mail client and reply through gMail's IMAP using the incoming POP address.

However, Mail doesn't seem to like keeping my preferences checked. Multiple times through out the day, it'll uncheck the boxes and grab mail from the POP's, screwing up my sync'd accounts. Several system updates have yet to fix the issue so, I'm looking to try out a new mail client.

What would you recommend? I took a brief look at Thunderbird, but it doesn't seem to play nice with Address Book.

Or should I just scrap a mail client all together and just go browser based?

I just posted a similar topic not even 5 seconds after yours. Seems like mail does not want to work for some of us. hopefully we can get these problems resolved quick.
