Mail is not recognizing new mail anymore

I've set my Mail to my gmail account. At first it downloaded current inbox's message alright. But after several days, i realize it didnt downloaded all mails in inbox. About 5-8 newest mail are not downloaded. So it stops at certain date. I tried sending a new mail from my other account and Mail also not recognizing if there's a new mail. It just checking, and then stop like there is no new mail. Anyone can help..
