MAIL is slow-

Just switched over to MAIL from Outlook 2011 on my Imac, 2.66 GHz, 16 GB Ram.

I notice MAIL is slow. When I tab from the TO: line to CC: to Subject, I have to wait on the software. About 25. sec between each tab.

I have MAIL on my Ipad Air and Macbook Pro and neither of these are slow.

What is the hang up?

Suggestions?

You say you've "just switched". Has all of your mail finished downloading?

Yes. All mail loaded.

On my MacBook and iPad, it works great! No delay. On my iMac, it takes 2.5 sec between TO & CC: to Subject ,etc.

If Mail is the only app with that symptom we can probably rule out any user account problems.

Check to see if ALL of your settings in Mail are identical to the settings on the computers that don't have the problem.

The Mail app interacts with the Address Book database when you're in the CC and BCC fields. Could be a problem with that. Do you have Address Book configured the same on all three computers?
