iPod touch mail is there, just can't open

I am really new at this.

I just got my touch 2nd g yesterday and have struggled to get everything working with the help of this forum and the 96 page manual.

My yahoo account is set up and looks fine until I try to access contents of a mailbox. My inbox shows 16 messages and how many are unread but if I touch that, it does nothing. What am I doing wrong? I have searched all the threads for email problems and can't find this one.hope someone can help me. thanks. Laura

I turned it off for a while and when I turned it on again and tried. All my mail came up. Thanks for lookin anyway...🙂
