Mail issue for new convert

Hi gang,
I have a buddy that converted but doesn't live nearby.
He is using 10.7 and I am 10.6/anyway he is getting the pop up attached here.
What does he need to change, guessing something in prefs but not sure what.

Go to the "Advanced" settings for the account and change the "Authentication:" setting to "Password".
