Mail just ATE all my EMAIL!

im totally freaking out

i turned on my Junk Mail feature - and had it "move it to the junk mailbox" automatically

and NOW ALL OF MY MAIL IS GONE

2 years of email - POOF


any thoughts?? i just can't believe it would delete all of that email - that doesnt make any sense... for turning on a junk mail feature????

Isn't it all just in your junk mail box?

Quit Mail and check the folder aptly named Mail in your Home folder's Library. Does it appear that your emails are still here? 🙂

Is it not backed up? Anything remotely important to you must be backed up. Otherwise one day it really WILL be gone (poof!) because your hard drive WILL fail....

ok --- so i went in to prefs. and unclicked the junk mail ---

this did nothing

so - out of anger - i just quit the program --- when i opened it back up everything was back to normal....

so weird...

If it's an IMAP account, it can sometimes take a while to display large folders after such massive email movements. Rebuilding the folder with the Mailbox menu can help. 🙂
