Hey everyone

I'm on Leo with all the updates, reinstalled the 10.5.2 combo updater, repaired disk permissions and still if I leave the mail app open, I keep getting the
enter the password yada yada. If I enter the password the enter password box opens again, if I cancel I can check my mail no problems, send receive, no problems. If I leave Mail on, eventually that enter password thing pops out again.

Thanks for any thoughts

Try deleting the account and then re-creating it... this worked for me a while back.

I have this same problem and tried everything, including re-creating the account. The problem lies in preferences>Accounts>Advanced. The account that is giving you the problem will change the authentication from password to Authenticated POP (by itself). You can go into preferences when you launch mail, and change this, but chances are it will change back within one of the next 3 times you launch mail... I just go into preferences and change it everytime I launch mail.

I called support about this, and even though there was tons of stuff on their discussion boards, I was the first they had heard about it. So, they are working on a fix, and hopefully it will be in the next update.

Hmm, mine is always showing password?
Someone said to change how often it checks for mail, from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. Not sure if it's helped me, but good to know I'm not the only one.
