Mail keeps crashing

When I click on an email with an attachment mail will crash and error message asks if I want to relaunch. I talked to Apple Care and they had me reinstall the OSX operating system and that helped for a couple of days and now it's doing it again. Can anyone give me some advice on what to do. Apple Care is closed for the night. Thanks.

This happens to me every once in a while. Just did a google search and a few threads on the Apple Discussion Forums came up which indicate you and I are not alone. Fixes not exactly forthcoming, but re-applying the combo update for 10.5.6 fixed it for one or two folks. Have a look for some other fixes:
