Mail left on server

Since I switched to my new IMac my e-mail is staying on the host server after I download it to my computer. I am sure I missed a setting somewhere but I can't find a place to edit my e-mail account. I keep getting messages from my ISP that my mailbox is almost full.

Oops - Thanks anyhow

I finally found where to remove mail from the server in preferences. The setting was to remove the mail after one month and I changed it to right away. Hopefully that will solve the problem.
