My grandpa's mac was plugging along just fine and then it stopped checking his mail. he has a .mac account and a comcast account. I tried removing the accounts and re adding then but no luck. The connection doctor says no problems. If I pull down the menu for mailbox get new mail both accounts are greyed out so I can't select them. Any help would be great........Thanks Caleb

Have they been set as "Offline?" If so, you should tell both accounts to "Go Online" and see if they resume checking.

No they say their online. upon further investigation i opened the activity monitor and it appears to open the comcast account and then get stuck at about the 6th message.could this be a comcast problem?

Hi,

maybe it's just an email (with a big attachment) which takes a long time to download.

I don't use ComCast, so I don't know if you the offer webmail access to delete it - or check what's going on and what's the thing with the 6th message.
