Mail not moving messages

Occasionally I'll move message between IMAP folder and local disk and for some reason this no longer has any affect.

The UI updates to no longer show the messages I'm moving but the IMAP server still has all the files and if I restart Mail.app it also shows the messages were not moved.

Also during the move the Activity Monitor is not showing it moving any messages either.

Yes I'm moving to a folder that's under on my mac correct.

Something I've done many times before.

If you create a new folder “On My Mac” can you move something to that one?

is the folder structure the same on the server as the MAC?

ie :"Sent (Server)", Sent Items (Server), Sent Mail (Server)

this could be an issue on the server side too - ie gmail , live.com aol.com etc

another thing to check - are the passwords and path for both the incoming server and outgoing server correct ( they are not always the same or can be wrong even if the same)

I rebuilt the Index and tried again and after that it started to work. I might have just needed to be more patient than I was since the Activity Window wasn't showing any sign of anything being moved / copied etc.
