I am getting push notifications from the Apple iOS8 Mail app on my home screen, but these notifications are not clearing (i.e., disappearing) once I read the e-mail.

For example, I am logged into my iCloud mail via a desktop web browser, an e-mail arrives, a notification appears on my lock screen on my iOS 8 device, I read the e-mail in my web browser, but the notification remains on my iOS 8 device.

In iOS7, mail notifications would clear if the e-mail was read via the web.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Been having the last few months even on iOS 7 and still seems to be there in iOS 8 now.

This has been an ongoing bug since like iOS 5 or something. As far as anyone can tell, after reading through years worth of threads, it seems to be an iCloud server issue. You might try logging into iCloud via a PC web browser, open all your mail there, and see if it goes away.

If not, it will probably "fix itself" in a few days and you'll just have to live with it until then.

Interesting, however, I've noticed a new data point.

It is also happening on my other iPhone 5 that I upgraded to iOS8, except that phone is my work phone and is connected to an Exchange account. When I read e-mails on my Outlook desktop, the notifications aren't clearing on the iPhone, but they would do so in iOS 7.

This makes it seem like it is an iOS8 issue...?
