Mail opening automatically

Hi all,

I'm running Leopard, and mail keeps opening after I close it (not just the window - I actually quit it and the light in the dock disappears.) I have changed my settings to check for mail manually, but to no avail. Anyone know what to do?

I had this problem but with iTunes.

It seemed to fix itself after I restarted the computer.
